In our September Market Report we wrote:- "Looking ahead most people have other matters in mind during December and January, but Easter is early in 2008. So, we expect the market to "wake-up" by mid-February. The early Clients will be those whose requirements were not fulfilled in 2007 plus those with a New Years resolution to buy in the Charente during 2008. Buy early and summer holidays will be taken care of ! " This prediction has proved to be absolutely correct. During the mid-February half-term break the first flock of serious buyers arrived in the Charente from the UK and were able to snap up some really nice properties which were new to the market. Early March has also proved to be a busy period with property sales up and with Easter just a week away the month should see our estate agents office remaining busy and hopefully fruitful for both vendors and purchasers alike. Ryanair flights from London Stansted to Poitiers the capital of the Poitou-Charente recommenced on the 14th March and the same airline has just announced that it is commencing five new routes this summer including Birmingham to Poitiers which should be of assistance to many clients. Perhaps best of all is the opening on April 1st of Ryanair flights from Stanstead into our local airport of Angoulême, the capital of the Charente (less than one hours drive from our estate agents office). At the moment on their website some superb offers are available. For example, on Thursday 10th April Flight No. FR1078 is shown as 0.01 euros one way to Angoulême and Flight No: FR1077 on Tuesday 22nd back to Stanstead at the same price! The only downside if there is one, is that the flights tend to be late evening but at that price even having to book a hotel for the night is surely worth it.
